Biography:
Catherine Qualified in 1998 from Manchester Medical School. She has worked for 2 years in New Zealand and for 6 months in Uganda providing Anaesthesia for a rural population looking after mainly children.

She completed her Anaesthesia training in the North West region. During this 7-year training scheme she completed one year of Paediatric Anaesthesia at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) and a fellowship in Paediatric Anaesthesia at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. Catherine was appointed as a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthestist at RMCH in 2012. She provides anaesthesia for all children with a subspecialty interest in anaesthesia for paediatric ENT..

She is a member of the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists Great Britain and Ireland (APAGBI), an Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) instructor and has an active role in simulation training for all healthcare professionals. She is a member of the international Managing Emergencies in Paediatric Anaesthesia (MEPA) collaboration.
She has an active interest in patient safety and is the Paediatric lead for the National Tracheostomy Safety Project.
